Special events

Special events are used to highlight significant days in the calendar. For example, if there are days where there is no activity Core component of both schedules and time records in Workforce Management (WFM). When an employee performs any kind of work, activities specify the scheduled work and capture employee adherence to their schedule. as an office is closed. Or if there are days which were out of the ordinary, for example, an outage occurred. It could also be days where you expect there to be activity levels similar to a day in the past, for example, an upcoming product launch could see similar volumes to a product launch that occurred in the past. There are three types that are used to define special events:

  • Anomalous: historical dates with bad data, algorithm to ignore this data for the forecast

  • Closed: future dates that do not expect any demand

  • Linked: dates in the past, with behavior expected to be similar to dates in the forecast range

Special Events are currently being rolled out to cloud customers. It may not be available in your site just yet.
