Updates required when desktop users change domains

When desktop users are moved to a new domain, settings that are associated with the fully qualified domain name for the desktop application user must be updated. The settings need to include the new fully qualified User Principal Name (UPN) in the format domain_user@<newdomainname>.com.

After moving Windows users who require Windows Authentication to a new domain, you need to modify their user names to include the new UPN.

Data sources for DPA

Data sources for DPA (Desktop and Process Analytics) are populated with a User Principal Name (UPN) user name in the format of domain_user@<newdomainname>.com. Before users are moved to a new domain, add the new fully qualified user name, in addition to the existing entry.

Multiple entries are supported. It is possible to maintain multiple IDs or to change completely to the new name when transition to the new domain is complete.

The DPA - Employee Import Sync adapter also needs to be run after a new UPN is added to the data source Third-party systems that provide data to the system, including employee and device states, and data change events. Typical data sources are phone switches, PBXs, or LANs..

Employee Profile UPN

The Desktop Messaging Application that allows sending pop-up messages to employees by selecting the recipients' name, login or role within the organization. Username setting on the employee profile enables users to receive desktop messages and notifications. The user name must reflect the fully qualified principal name (UPN) with the new domain name in the following format: domain_user@<newdomainname>.com.

The User Principal name does not have to be the same as the user email address. The most reliable method for determining the exact UPN user name is by invoking the following command within a user’s logged in session:

Whoami /UPN

The output of this command is what is required in all cases In Risk Management, use cases to group interactionss according to the needs of the enterprise. Interactions can reside in multiple cases simultaneously. where the UPN user name is requested. Adding the employee email address to these fields is not recommended.

Employee profile Email

Use only a valid email address. This email address does not have to be the same as the UPN.
