Extenders and converters
Each integration package has a batch extender component, which starts the processes that perform a specified task and then exits. The process is triggered by the adapter manager. When you select an integration’s batch extender component, the Configure page displays on the right panel.
On this page you can set the command line to run the process and the maximum time to run. For some of the integration packages, the extender command line is straightforward. Others will have additional configuration parameters, such as an offset.
The timer component triggers the integration package which in turn, starts the batch extender which runs the process.
When the Batch Extender completes, it sends a Completed indicator to Integration Server.
If the Batch Extender fails, it sends a Failed indicator to Integration Server.
In either case, the status is displayed on the Monitor page of the package.
When the Batch Extender component times out while the process is still running, the Batch Extender shuts down the process and sends a Failed error message.
