Recommended workflow: Set up shift swap requests
Employees can swap either a full or partial shift Work period in WFM that has a definite length. with or without a gap or a nonworking day using a swap request or a swap posting. For shifts with a gap, the entire gap must be swapped.
This workflow describes the procedures for setting up shift swap requests and using all system features. Follow the procedures that fit the needs of your organization.

Define settings shared by all request types
While most Request Management settings are specific to one type of request, several optional settings are effective for all request types.

Shift swap settings turn on shift swap for an organization, define which organizations can be swapped with, types of swaps allowed, and number of negotiation comments.

Create policies for shift swap requests
Shift swap request policies provide guidance to employees about submitting requests. Employees can view this information on the Policies page (on the My Requests menu).
